Local and refugee children - together for peace

Charity Center for Refugees (CCR) organized an awareness event in the primary school of Mereni village on the 26th of April. In Mereni live four refugee families from Syria, Sudan and Armenia, whose children are attending the primary school. The event was moderated by Mrs. Veronica Chirita, the teacher of one of the refugee children. It was attended by approx. 70 pupils studying in the 2nd grade, Ms. Margareta Ursu representing the Moldavian Ministry of Culture, the deputy Mayor of Mereni village, Mrs. Aurelia Roşca, together with the school’s director, Mrs. Alexandra Cerî, other teachers of the school and members of the school staff, and also the refugees as parents of the children studying in Mereni.

For the people of Moldova, the fact that there are refugees residing in the country often comes as a surprise. Therefore the CCR decided to organize an awareness event in the primary school for the second grade, both to cheer up the refugee kids who felt somehow uprooted from their mother country and to make their class mates aware of where they come from and the difficulties the refugee children encounter. Because of the number of Syrian refugees, the teachers and CCR staff decided to put the focus on Peace and Arabic culture. The room was decorated with pictures of different refugee families, paper doves and some words in Arabic with Romanian translation. 

The event had activities which were organized by the different actors themselves: the school, CCR and the refugee children. The event started with a speech of one of the refugee children’s teacher who moderated the event, in which she asked one of the refugee girls to explain the situation of being a refugee to their fellow pupils. It was followed by a couple of ball room dances, performed by some enthusiastic Moldovan pupils.

The second part contained activities of the CCR itself: firstly, CCR’s art teacher demonstrated how to make bird houses out of empty plastic bottles. The main idea was to make an analogy between giving food and homes to birds that come from another place and the refugee situation. Secondly, one of the European volunteers played an animal guessing game, in which the kids had to guess the names and sounds of animals from Syria and the Arabic world. No words needed to imagine how the game ended in lots of shouting, gesturing, laughing and fun. 

Finally, two of the refugee girls had prepared a singing and dancing performance to make sure the children learned something from Arabic music and dancing. The Moldovan girls spontaneously imitated the belly movements of the Syrian girls in front of her, which gave much of hilarity as well. 

The final stage of the event was freeing a white dove, symbol of peace, on the play yard and after that the children all joined to dance a Moldovan hora. The event ended with CCR giving a Chess, Checkers & Backgammon Set and a set of felt-tip pens to each of the three classes. Each kid also received a chocolate, a small juice pack, as well as a notebook and a postcard offered by UNHCR. Everybody had a good time, both children and adults, and on a deeper level, the children had something to think about. That fellow pupil of theirs, coming from another country, was maybe not as different from them as they might have thought.

Copiii din comunitatea locală şi copiii refugiaţi - împreună pentru pace

Centrul de Caritate pentru Refugiaţi (CCR) a organizat pe data de 26 aprilie un eveniment de sensibilizare în şcoala primară din Mereni. În Mereni locuiesc patru familii de refugiaţi din Siria, Sudan şi Armenia, ai căror copiii frecventează şcoala primară dată. Evenimentul a fost moderat de doamna Veronica Chiriţa, învăţătoarea unuia din copiii refugiaţi. La eveniment au asistat circa 70 de elevi din clasa 2, doamna Margareta Ursu, reprezentând Ministerul al Culturii în Moldova, doamna viceprimar din Mereni, Aurelia Roşca, împreună cu directorul şcolii, doamna Alexandra Cerî, alţi învăţători din şcoală şi membri ai personalului şcolii, precum şi refugiaţii părinţi ai copiilor, care studiază în Mereni.

Deseori, moldovenii sunt surprinşi să audă că există refugiaţi care locuiesc pe teritoriul Republicii Moldova. Astfel, CCR a decis să organizeze un eveniment de sensibilizare în şcoala primară pentru clasa 2 pentru a înveseli copiii refugiaţi, care se simt dislocaţi din patria lor, dar şi pentru a informa pe elevi despre ţările de origine a copiilor refugiaţi şi despre greutăţile cu care se confruntă. Luînd în considerare numărul mare a refugiaţilor veniţi din Siria, profesorii împreună cu reprezentanţii CCR au decis ca activităţile să fie legate de tema Păcii şi Cultura Arabă. În acest sens, sala a fost decorată cu portrete a cîteva familii refugiate, hulubi de hîrtie şi inscriptii în limba arabă cu traducerea în română.În ultima parte a evenimentului, copiii  au dansat o horă moldovenvească, după care ei s-au adunat în curtea şcolii pentru a elibera un hulub alb, ca simbol al păcii. Evenimentul s-a terminat prin înmînarea unor cadouri din partea CCR celor 3 clase şi anume a unui set de carioce şi a unui set de jocuri de şah, dame şi backgammon. Pe lîngă aceasta, fiecare elev a primit o ciocolată, un pachet mic de suc, dar şi un caiet şi o felicitare oferite din partea UNHCR. Atît adulţii cît şi copiii s-au distrat de minune, iar, dacă privim mai adînc, copiii au avut ocazia să reflexioneze puţin şi anume despre faptul că colegii săi veniţi din alte ţări, nu diferă probabil atît de mult de ei înşişi, cum ar fi presupus ei la bunul început.

Evenimentul a fost compus din activităţi pregătite de diferite părţi: de şcoală, de CCR şi de copiii refugiaţi.  Începerea evenimentului a fost dată de cuvîntarea dnei Chiriţa, ca profesoare a unui din copiii refugiaţi, şi ca moderatoare a evenimentului, prin care ea a rugat pe unul din copiii refugiaţi să explice celorlalţi elevi despre situaţia în care se află un refugiat. După aceasta au urmat o serie de dansuri moderne, oferite de nişte elevi moldoveni cu entuziasm.

A doua parte a evenimentului a inclus activităţi din partea CCR. Mai întîi, profesorul de arte de la CCR a arătat cum se fac hrănitoare pentru păsări din sticle goale de plastic. Ideea de bază a acestei activităţi a fost evidenţierea analogiei între alimentarea păsărilor care vin din alte părţi şi situaţia refugiatului. Apoi, unul din voluntarii europeni a moderat un joc de ghicire cu animale, în care copiii trebuiau să ghicească numele şi sunetele unor animale din Siria şi din alte ţări orientale. Cuvintele sunt de prisos pentru a imagina cum s-a realizat acest joc: cu multe strigăte, gesticulări, zîmbete, şi distracţie.

La urmă, două fete din copiii refugiaţi au pregătit un număr de dans şi cîntec pentru a arăta celorlalţi colegi un pic din muzica şi dansurile arabe. Elevele din sală absolut spontan au început să imite mişcările corpului ale micii dansatoare din Siria, ceea ce a creat multă veselie pentru toţi cei prezenţi. În ultima parte a evenimentului, copiii  au dansat o horă moldovenvească, după care ei s-au adunat în curtea şcolii pentru a elibera un hulub alb, ca simbol al păcii.

Местные дети и дети беженцы - вместе за мир

В конце апреля, Центр Милосердия для Беженцев (ЦМБ) организовал в начальной школе села Мерены мероприятие для повышения уровня осведомлёности о беженцах. В этом селе на данный момент проживают 4 семьи беженцев из Сирии, Судана и Армении, и их дети учатся в начальной школе.

Ведущая мероприятие была учительница одного из детей беженцев, госпожа Вероника Кирица. В мероприятии участвовали 70 учеников вторых классов, а также присутствовали представитель от Министерства Культуры, госпожа Маргарета Урсу, заместитель мэра села Мерены, госпожа Аурелия Рошка, директор начальной школы, госпожа Александра Черы, а также другие учителя и работники школы и, конечно же, сами беженцы родители детей беженцев учащихся в данной школе.

Часто присутствие беженцев в Республике Молдова воспринимается её гражданами с удивлением. Поэтому, ЦМБ решил устроить мероприятие для повышения толерантности и осведомлёности о беженцах среди учеников начальной школы в Меренах, не только чтобы поднять настроение детей беженцев которые были вынуждены покинуть свою страну, но и для того чтобы их одноклассники смогли узнать побольше об их родных краях и о трудностях с которыми они сталкиваются. Так как большинство беженцев приехали из Сирии, учителя и представители ЦМБ выбрали тематику Мира и Арабской Культуры для мероприятия.  В связи с этим решением, зал был оформлен портретами разных семей беженцев, рисунками голубей и надписями некоторых слов на арабском языке с их переводом на государственный язык.

Мероприятие состояло из несколько частей подготовлеными отдельно школой, ЦМБ и детьми беженцами. Начало было дано учительницей одной из девочек беженок, которая попросила её рассказать своим одноклассникам что чувствует беженец. Затем последовали несколько танцевальных номеров выполненных с энтузиазмом молдавскими учениками.

Вторая часть была проведена представителями от ЦМБ. С начала, преподаватель ЦМБ показал как делаются кормушки для птиц из пустых бутылок. Цель этого упражнения состояла в том чтобы объяснить детям аналогию между кормлением птиц которые прилетают из других стран и нуждами беженцев в помощи. Затем, один из европейских волонтёров Центра провёл с учениками игру в которой дети должны были угадать название разных животных из Сирии и других восточных стран, а также попытаться воспроизвести звуки которые они издают. Слова излишни чтобы представить как прошла эта игра: с шумом, смехом и весельем.

В заключении, две девочки из Сирии подготовили номер с песней и танцем чтобы показать своим одноклассникам хоть маленькую часть арабской музыки и арабского танца. Местные девочки спонтанно начали имитировать движения маленькой танцовщицы, что заставило улыбнуться всех присутсвующих.

В последней части мероприятия, во дворе школы был освобождён белый голубь, являющимся символом мира, после чего все дети собрались и станцевали вместе молдавскую хору. Всё закончилось с раздачей разных подарков от ЦМБ. Во-первых каждый класс получил набор игр в шахматы, шашки и нарды. Кроме этого, каждый ученик получил шоколадку, маленький пакет сока, а также тетрадь и пткрытку от УВКБ ООН. Все хорошо повеселились и, на более глубоком уровне, дети смогли задуматься о том что их ровестники из других стран не отличаются так сильно от ник как они прежде считали.
